Toulouse White Biotechnology (TWB) is a pre-industrial demonstration project aiming to speed up industrial biotechnology development by facilitating exchanges between publicly funded research and industry.
It aims to contribute towards the rapid expansion of bioeconomics based on using renewable carbon in the areas of chemistry, materials and energy.
TWB provides its partners with seven advanced technical platforms, including two dedicated to ethical issues and project environmental assessments. Different types of research and development cooperation projects are put forward, along with tailored services for companies.
A successful applicant to the "Investments for the Future" call for projects in March 2011, TWB is a beneficiary of government assistance managed by the National Research Agency (ANR). TWB is a Joint Research Unit (UMS) managed by INRA under the three-way supervision of Inra, INSA (National Institute of Applied Sciences) and CNRS.
