Attracting 15 000 newcomers every year, Toulouse, the capital of the region which has been fast growing both demographically and economically, boasts  a particularly rich vibrant  cultural  and artistic heritage.

Fifteen doctoral schools of high repute

The fifteen Doctoral Schools of the Midi-Pyrenees region are part of the College Doctoral of Toulouse University. All together, over 5000 doctoral students can study for their PhD thanks to top-ranking training schemes in an extensive range of subject areas and to complementary job-oriented  seminars/workshops aimed to develop the skills required for a successful professional integration.

A highly innovative research policy

researcherMidi-Pyrénées is the leading French region in terms of research effort with 16.2 researchers for 1,000 salaried positions and 4.1% of the GDP dedicated to research that is approx. twice as much as the European average ratio1.

Large-scale development projects

Toulouse University coordinates a large-scale development project: new buildings over 56,000 m2 will get off ground by 2016. Another 108,000 m2 will be rehabilitated to provide hi-tech research facilities, over 2 million reference library documents including innovative digital resources.

Over 11,000 students come from abroad to further study in Toulouse higher education institutions and researchers from all over the world are hosted in Toulouse University research laboratories.
