brasil flagIn 2011, the Brazilian government started an ambitious international mobility program called Ciencia sem Fronteiras (CsF) which has been launching the seeds of what could revolutionize the Research and Developpment system.

The program is focused in areas of strong industrial interest:

  • Engineering and other technological areas
  • Pure and Natural Sciences
  • Health and Biomedical Sciences
  • Information and Communication Technologies
  • Aerospace
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Sustainable Agricultural Production
  • Oil, Gas and Coal
  • Renewable Energy
  • Biotechnology
  • Nanotechnology and New Materials
  • Technology for prevention and mitigation of natural disasters
  • Biodiversity and bioprospection
  • Marine Sciences
  • Minerals
  • New technologies for constructive engineering
  • Formation of technical personnel
  • Creative and cultural industries

Approximately 30 % concerns mobility to France what represents 25 000 of the total.


This program involves an important PhD and post-doctoral section and it uphold two types of mobility:

  •  The "sandwich" thesis provides a 3 to 12 months grant in the framework of a co-tutelle agreement or a co-supervising
  •  The full-time thesis consist in a 36 months research project within a French University or a Higher Education Institution

The Université Fédérale Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées offers full-time and "sandwich" Doctorates opportunities for Brazilian students.
