Thematic Organisation of Programs > Program Committees

Thematic organisation of programs is handled by the Program Committees: Research, Training, Innovation, Science & Society, which establish calls for projects, participate in selection processes, and contribute to overall coordination.

 

Activities of the Program Committees

Broadly, the activities of the Program Committees cover two main areas: managing calls for projects within their scope and contributing to local engagement and project uptake.

 

For Calls for Projects (AAP):

  • Drafting AAP texts based on initial inputs received from the Operational Committee, with the option to incorporate new relevant ideas.
  • Pre-assessing projects and, if necessary, seeking and engaging external experts.
  • Managing expert feedback and proposing project rankings for funding.
  • Preparing monitoring and evaluation elements for AAPs, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts regarding AAP relevance for the following year.

Promoting AAPs locally.

 

For Animation:

  • Ensuring coherence of TIRIS initiatives with other accessible AAPs for site stakeholders.
  • Discussing priority themes and approaches within their field of action, with potential support for setting up local engagement groups.
  • Contributing to the organisation of "TIRIS" events (e.g., seminar series, annual day, etc.).
  • In general, identifying medium-term development perspectives within the committee's area of activity: research, training, innovation, or science and society (e.g., identifying emerging topics or approaches, key skills to strengthen, strategies to develop chosen themes, international partnership opportunities, etc.).

 

Functioning and Resources:

  • Each program committee comprises around twenty members, including a coordinator who is a member of the TIRIS Operational Committee.
  • Program committees have a budget to initiate engagement activities.
  • Program committees benefit from operational support from departments and services at the University of Toulouse (administrative support, logistical means, communication services, etc.).
